1. Clean and rinse glass drinking bottles regularly
If we clean our drinking bottle regularly, we can drink from it without worry. Glass in particular makes it very easy for us to see coarse deposits of juice or tea and to get rid of them as quickly as possible. But even if our bottle looks clean, unwanted germs and bacteria can settle on it that we cannot see with the naked eye. To prevent the small particles from multiplying and starting to smell unpleasant, we should clean our drinking bottle daily. This prevents bacteria and germs from multiplying over a longer period of time and forming unwanted odors :-)
2. Simply clean glass bottles with a brush and detergent
Whether at home or in the office kitchen, we always have the bottle brush hanging next to the sink, ready to hand. Because with it you can easily reach all corners, ends, edges, grooves or curves. The CARRY Brush is ideal for almost every type of bottle, whether small, large, thin, square or round. All we need when washing with the bottle brush is clear, fresh water and a small drop of washing-up liquid. It's so easy to clean your drinking bottle with the CARRY Brush :
- Pour residue out of the bottle and rinse briefly with water
- Add detergent (just one drop is enough!)
- Brush all parts of the bottle thoroughly
- Pour out the water with the rinse residue and rinse well 1-2 times with clean water
- Dry well
3. Always let glass bottles dry well and store them open
As important as washing is, storing the drinking bottle correctly is at least as important. Often we cannot get bottles completely dry if we simply place them upside down on the shelf or wipe them dry with a tea towel. There is almost always a hint of moisture in the bottle, which is actually not a problem if the bottle is stored open. This way, even the last drop in the bottle dries after a few hours. But if we simply close the lid and do not use it straight away, but leave it in the cupboard for days, new sources of germs can form here too. It is ideal if we let the bottle drain upside down (on a dry and clean tea towel) and then store it open in the cupboard or on the table. Bottles also like fresh air :-)
4. Clean the lid too
Of course, we also clean the lid of our drinking bottle regularly. This is just as important as cleaning the bottle itself. Most lids have a sealing disc or a sealing ring inside that ensures that the drinking bottle remains leak-proof. But this also means that two components are put together and water or other residues can collect between them. As long as we clean the lid regularly and take it apart every now and then, we can get to all the critical areas. To clean our lid, we pry out the sealing disc inside with a blunt object (e.g. a teaspoon) and clean the lid and the transparent sealing disc with a drop of washing-up liquid and clear water. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also clean the inside of the lid with the bottle brush. The bristles of the CARRY Brush allow you to get into the thread of the lid perfectly.
