The screw cap with removable sealing disk is super functional - it is 100% leak-proof, even for carbonated drinks, and is even dishwasher-safe. The cap is made from a sustainable material and is free from harmful substances such as plasticizers and bisphenols (BPA).

Material

When developing the screw cap, we chose materials that are good for our health and good for our environment. The screw cap is a Natural product and is made of pollutant-free polypropylene (PP) with FSC-certified upcycled wood fibers. The material gives the lid its great feel and appearance, as well as high functionality (durable, dishwasher-safe, leak-proof). The removable sealing disc is made of odorless silicone.

All materials of the closure are free of plasticizers and bisphenols (BPA). You can find more information on our page Products & Materials.

Cleaning & care

You should clean the cap of your CARRY Bottle regularly to prevent odors and bacteria from forming. You can clean the cap by hand using a dishwashing brush or the CARRY Brush. Tip: Remove the sealing disk for cleaning so that the space between the cap and seal is also properly cleaned. Then leave both parts to dry and put the sealing disk back in.

Alternatively, you can clean the cap in the dishwasher. The best way to do this is to place the lid on a rack above the jars in the top compartment and the sealing disk in the cutlery basket.

Should a part get lost, you can buy the lid and/or the sealing disk as a replacement part. 😊

Our CARRY Bottles are designed in Berlin, manufactured in southern Lower Saxony from regional raw materials and printed just 40 km away in Hehlen.

Made from recycled glass

We use around 60% of broken glass from the region's waste glass containers. This way we reduce the amount of material and energy used in the glass melting process!

Can the lid be put in the dishwasher?

Yes, the lid is dishwasher safe. Please note that there is a sealing disc in the lid, which you can remove for cleaning and put in the dishwasher.

What material is the lid made of?

The lid is made of wood fiber and food-safe polypropylene (PP). This plastic is also used for food packaging and is safe for health. It offers strength and can be used even at high temperatures.

There is a removable silicone sealing disc inside the cap. This ensures that the drinking bottle remains leak-proof.

Is the lid plastic-free?

No. The lid is made of 25% wood fiber and 75% polypropylene, a petroleum-based plastic. Plastic is not always bad, it depends on the production, use and disposal. The decisive factors for our decision were the application possibilities and product properties of plastic, as it is dishwasher-safe, food-safe and waterproof. Therefore, we made the conscious decision to manufacture our CARRY lid, which can be reused for many years, from plastic. You can find more information at Products & Materials.

Why is the CARRY lid not made entirely of wood?

There are many drinking bottle manufacturers that advertise a wooden or metal lid, but we have not yet found a lid made of 100% metal or 100% wood. A pure wooden lid would not be suitable for permanent contact with water, but would quickly smell and become moldy. A pure metal lid does not seal, so the bottle would leak. Such lids would also not be dishwasher safe. That is why we have opted for a plastic lid with wood fibers. This way we only use two materials and offer maximum functionality. Why does the sealing disc sometimes stick to the CARRY?

You filled your CARRY with a hot drink and when you opened it again, the sealing disc was stuck to the bottle opening? That's how it was intended. We deliberately designed our cap so that the sealing disc can be completely removed and the cap and seal can be cleaned thoroughly. This two-part system prevents bacteria and ensures that you can use your CARRY for a long time. Because the sealing disc is only pressed into the lid instead of glued, it stays stuck to the bottle opening when there is a negative pressure in the CARRY Bottle. This happens especially when there are temperature fluctuations.
