Material

The removable sealing disc is made of odorless silicone that is free of harmful substances, plasticizers and BPA. The sealing disc must always be used in combination with the cap to seal the bottle leak-proof. It is removable, dishwasher-safe and should be cleaned regularly.

Cleaning & care

Inside the cap, a silicone sealing disk ensures that the cap fits the bottle without any gaps. This keeps the bottle leak-proof.

Regular cleaning prevents odors from forming in the bottle and ensures that no beverage residue remains in the lid. This makes the lid particularly durable and easy to clean

You can easily remove the sealing disk from the lid using a spoon handle, for example. Then you can either wash it by hand or put it in the dishwasher - it's best to put it in the cutlery basket so that it doesn't get lost.

If a part gets lost, you can buy the lid and/or the sealing disk as spare parts 😊

Our CARRY Bottles are designed in Berlin, manufactured in southern Lower Saxony from regional raw materials and printed just 40 km away in Hehlen.

Made from recycled glass

We use around 60% of broken glass from the region's waste glass containers. This way we reduce the amount of material and energy used in the glass melting process!

Can the lid be put in the dishwasher?

Yes, the lid is dishwasher safe. Please note that there is a sealing disc in the lid, which you can remove for cleaning and put in the dishwasher.

What material is the lid made of?

The lid is made of wood fiber and food-safe polypropylene (PP). This plastic is also used for food packaging and is safe for health. It offers strength and can be used even at high temperatures.

There is a removable silicone sealing disc inside the cap. This ensures that the drinking bottle remains leak-proof.

Is the lid plastic-free?

No. The lid is made of 25% wood fiber and 75% polypropylene, a petroleum-based plastic. Plastic is not always bad, it depends on the production, use and disposal. The decisive factors for our decision were the application possibilities and product properties of plastic, as it is dishwasher-safe, food-safe and waterproof. Therefore, we made the conscious decision to manufacture our CARRY lid, which can be reused for many years, from plastic. You can find more information at Products & Materials.

Why is the CARRY lid not made entirely of wood?

There are many drinking bottle manufacturers that advertise a wooden or metal lid, but we have not yet found a lid made of 100% metal or 100% wood. A pure wooden lid would not be suitable for permanent contact with water, but would quickly smell and become moldy. A pure metal lid does not seal, so the bottle would leak. Such lids would also not be dishwasher safe. That is why we have opted for a plastic lid with wood fibers. This way we only use two materials and offer maximum functionality. Why does the sealing disc sometimes stick to the CARRY?

You filled your CARRY with a hot drink and when you opened it again, the sealing disc was stuck to the bottle opening? That's how it was intended. We deliberately designed our cap so that the sealing disc can be completely removed and the cap and seal can be cleaned thoroughly. This two-part system prevents bacteria and ensures that you can use your CARRY for a long time. Because the sealing disc is only pressed into the lid instead of glued, it stays stuck to the bottle opening when there is a negative pressure in the CARRY Bottle. This happens especially when there are temperature fluctuations.
