Our eagerly awaited summer designs are finally freshly printed and can be ordered from today! š So it's high time to take a closer look at the new ones. Clear the stage for our seven motifs from the 2021 summer collection: Today we're taking you behind the scenes of the development phase.
Sustainably beautiful
CARRY combines the good with the beautiful: Our new collection is also produced regionally in Lower Saxony from recycled glass and is 100% free of harmful substances. Along with these important topics, aesthetics and individuality are at the top of our agenda. We now have a colorful variety of minimalist, floral and maritime motifs for you. Because our experience shows: What you see is what you get :)

The development phase
We are always particularly happy when artists create bottle motifs for us. For more information, click through our blog posts on Glitter Power Club , Lucia and Ligarti . The designs that were created in these collaborations are particularly well received by many of you - and we haven't gotten enough of them yet either :)
For every LET THE BEES BE sold, we donate ā¬1 to a flower meadow project. This makes cooperation especially fun for us!
We often design our own designs. Our lovely Louisa has been taking care of this for a long time in our team. Before we start the actual design process, we first collect lots of ideas about topics for which we can imagine new designs. Louisa creates mood boards for these - sometimes very vague - ideas. These are collages of images and photos that reflect these themes. They give us an initial feeling of the direction a design could take on a certain topic. After a few rounds of discussion in the team, we decide on a topic and design direction that should be further developed and Louisa starts with the first drafts.
Louisa took the time to answer a few questions for us :)
5 questions for Louisa
How long have you been at CARRY and what are your tasks?
I have been at CARRY for a year now. I started in social media, but then illustrated a postcard for the packaging and then my tasks at CARRY changed. Since then, I have mainly been responsible for creating new designs, creating product and mood photos together with Ida & Carina, and designing trade fair posters and other marketing materials.
How do you like to draw?
I usually do my sketches analogue and then redraw them digitally. Sometimes I also try out techniques like watercolor or linocut to get even more variety in our designs.
Which of the new ones is your favorite design?
I think I'm a big fan of JUICY ORANGE at the moment. Especially because the motif fits very well in summer :)
Where do you get your inspiration from?
On the one hand, I spend a lot of time on Pinterest because it's very good for creating mood boards. I also find input on what's currently trending on Instagram, Behance or exhibitions. Otherwise, of course, I also ask the team what new ideas there are.
What does sustainability mean to you?
For me, sustainability plays a big role both in my everyday life and in my work at CARRY. At the time, I was deliberately looking for a job where the focus was on sustainability.
The finalization
To select our favorites from these designs, we ask ourselves the following questions, for example: What motifs can we add to our range to ensure we have the right bottle for everyone? For our new collection, we have chosen colorful summer motifs that continue to use floral and maritime ornaments. Another obvious and at the same time very important question: Does the design put us in a good mood and encourage us to drink from our CARRY again and again? We can clearly answer yes for this collection! āļø
Once we have decided on new motifs, the next step is a lot of discussion and experimentation: elements are added, removed, moved and colors are adjusted until we are completely happy with them. The designs are then finalized by Louisa adjusting the last details for printing and at the same time we are busy collecting ideas for names. By the way: our intuitive ideas are usually the best when we first look at the new design - like with our FLOWER RAIN, for example, whose name came to dear Vanessa just seconds after she first looked at it :)
After the development phase, we then hand the designs over to the printers and have a test print made. We check whether the colors and the motif appear as we want them to. If we are happy with the result, we print the CARRY Bottles and send them to your home in a box made of grass paper .
We are ready for this year's summer and have put together a colorful variety for you. Curtain up for our new designs š
Small addendum from 2024: We wrote our blog entry on how we create new designs back in 2021. The information in our post is still correct today, but the designs created back then are already all sold out. Thank you for your loyalty and enthusiasm ā¤ļø
