What makes CARRY so special?

Made in Germany

Our CARRY Bottles are designed in Berlin, manufactured in southern Lower Saxony from regional raw materials and printed just 40 km away in Hehlen.

Made from recycled glass

We use around 60% of broken glass from the region's waste glass containers. This way we reduce the amount of material and energy used in the glass melting process!

Feels good

Our products are made with love and our designs reflect what is important to us. The CARRYs fit nicely in the hand and the feel invites you to touch them 😊

This is what awaits you in the surprise bag

If bottles with optical defects are produced in our production, we are unfortunately unable to sell them normally. Throwing them away or putting them straight back into the glass melt would be a huge waste of resources, because these drinking bottles are 100% functional. That's why we introduced our grab bag of these flawed glass bottles.

We explain here which defects can occur:

Glass defects

For us, a glass defect is an unevenness in the glass surface, such as a scratch or a washboard. You can easily feel this glass defect when you stroke the bottle.

A washboard is a collection of closely spaced, horizontal lines on the shoulder of the bottle. The lines are directly in the surface of the glass and you can feel them very subtly with your finger.

Washboards are created during the production of glass blanks in the glassworks. When the molten glass flows into the preform, the glass can push up and the washboards form.

A glass defect is a purely optical and tactile flaw and has no effect on the functionality and stability of your glass bottle!

Air bubble

An air pocket is an air bubble in the glass. This is created in the glassworks when the liquid glass is poured into the much cooler mold and the glass hardens before the air can escape.

Due to the high proportion of recycled glass in our CARRY Bottles, small air pockets are normal. If a bottle has several small air pockets or a larger, clearly visible air pocket, we declare it as B-stock for the grab bag.

An air inclusion is a purely optical defect and has no effect on the functionality and stability of your glass bottle!

Printing errors

We have already implemented countless projects and a wide variety of designs and have a lot of experience in printing on glass bottles. However, we sometimes make mistakes that we only notice when the bottles are finished and printed.
In screen printing, for example, this means that the contact point between the bottle and the screen was not stable and the color was therefore blurred or missed (offset) in certain places. In digital printing, for example, a nozzle can become clogged so that no color was applied to a tiny spot in the design.

Whatever the printing error may have been, we don't have completely wrong printed designs. We make sure that our CARRY Bottles are always visually appealing and that they only have flaws that you learn to love 😊

Oldie, but Goldie

We still have a few copies of our old packaging left, which is why the bottles from the grab bag are sometimes still packaged in the old look. They contain lots of product information and are great for gift wrapping.

We also still have some individual bottles left of our old designs that we recently or even a long time ago removed from our range.

That's not really a flaw, but we would like to find a new home for our occasional remaining items and you deserve a discounted lucky find 😊
