Do you have a really good resolution for the new year to drink more water? Do you want to do something for your health and warm up in the winter temperatures? Then try a delicious, homemade tea that is also good for your immune system and well-being! Today we have brought you our top 3 favorite recipes for homemade tea.
Tea from a glass bottle?
Of course, drinking tea is no problem with our CARRY Bottles! There are a few little things to consider, but you'll get used to them very quickly - we promise π
We love drinking our tea from a glass bottle because glass doesn't give off any taste or smell. This way, the taste of the tea remains unadulterated. So if you're not happy with stainless steel and plastic bottles and are looking for a taste-neutral option, a CARRY Bottle made of glass is a great alternative. In addition, glass doesn't contain microplastics or other harmful substances, so your tea is really good for your health. Another big advantage of a glass bottle filled with tea over an insulated bottle or a teapot is that you can warm your hands on a glass bottle.
Fun fact: We even use our CARRY Bottles as a replacement for hot water bottles! And sometimes as shoe warmers ;)
Now you might be wondering what exactly happened with glass bottles with hot water and why not every glass bottle manufacturer advertises tea? This brings us to the small disadvantage of glass drinking bottles: they can break. Depending on the type of glass and the product properties, some glass bottles are suitable for tea, others are not. The good news is that you can use our CARRY Bottles for tea with a little trick! But please make sure that the glass is not heated from very cold to very hot. To warm up the bottle slowly, you can first pour a little hot water into the bottle and swirl it briefly in the bottle. Or you can fill a few cm of fresh water into the CARRY and then mix in the hot water. Another small tip: If you close the bottle with hot water directly, the sealing disc can come loose from the lid the next time you open it due to the negative pressure created - but you can simply put it back in the lid and your bottle will be sealed again immediately. But enough tips for now, let's get to our favorite teas!
Our top 3 favorite teas - easy to make at home
We probably all know the classic fresh teas: ginger tea, hot lemon or fresh mint with honey. The great thing about these teas is that we usually have the ingredients at home, they are super easy to make and are also incredibly delicious and healthy!
Are you still wondering why you should make yourself a fresh tea? Of course there are great, ready-mixed teas and we don't want to miss them in our stressful everyday lives. But sometimes you might want to treat yourself to something fresh and really tasty. The feeling you get when drinking tea is also different if you have taken a moment to prepare it - a moment that you have given entirely to yourself and your well-being.
1. Favorite tea: rosemary with lemon and honey
Rosemary has a great taste and can not only be used in cooking, but is also wonderful for making tea. With a little lemon peel and lemon juice, as well as a teaspoon of honey, you get a wonderfully versatile tea. This combination tastes slightly tart and refreshing at the same time.
For a little variety, you can replace the rosemary with thyme or sage and use an orange instead of the lemon π
2. Favorite tea: Cinnamon with orange
3. Favorite drink: Golden Milk with turmeric
The superfood turmeric is often used in Ayurvedic cuisine and is said to have many beneficial properties. For example, it is said to strengthen the immune system, promote digestion and have an anti-inflammatory effect. In order for the active ingredient curcumin to develop its full effect, turmeric should be combined with a little black pepper or oil.
To prepare the Golden Milk you need the following ingredients:
- 500 ml oat drink
- a thumb-sized piece of turmeric root or 1-2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
- a thumb-sized piece of ginger in slices
- 1 cinnamon stick or Β½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ΒΌ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- optionally a pinch of ground nutmeg or cardamom
- honey or agave syrup as desired
Briefly heat the oat drink with all the ingredients and make sure that it does not boil. Then let the Golden Milk cool down a little, remove the cinnamon stick and ginger pieces and pour the Golden Milk into a cup or drinking bottle. Enjoy your thirst!
My personal tip: On some days the Golden Milk is too strong or too powerful for me, so I replace about β
of the milk with water or dilute the finished Golden Milk with a little more hot milk.
Even lukewarm water is healthy
Did you know that lukewarm water is very healthy? It's a great change from tea and, especially on colder days, a great alternative to cold tap water.
A big advantage of lukewarm water is that it is already at body temperature and the body therefore does not have to expend energy to cool it down or warm it up. This makes it very easy on the stomach. In Ayurvedic nutrition and traditional Chinese medicine, lukewarm water is highly recommended. In particular, a large glass of lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the morning. The water flushes toxins out of the digestive tract, stimulates the metabolism and supports the circulation.
There are many good reasons to drink a lot of water regularly. It doesn't matter whether you prefer to drink water in the form of fresh tap water, a hot tea or lukewarm water in the morning. The main thing is that you drink enough water and as few sweetened soft drinks as possible. We hope that we have been able to show you in this article that drinking water can be very versatile and super healthy!
